Internation convention was fun and suprisingly not as cold as I had thought it would be. Weather was kind of gross but I met a lot of new kids from all over the country. We went to many super fun places lie the zoo and the hancock building. I strongly recomend Internation convention for any upperclassman next year. It is just as fun for underclassmen but there arent to many there so it's difficult to meet new people. Also, because of IC team swoll and the use of the word "meh" are growing at an… Continue

Fall Convention

So I I just got Home from Fall convention '09 and am Happy to say that it was the best fall convention I have ever attended! Props to Sarah Hoffman and Dicker as well as Matthew "Barkie" Barkan.
On a side note I would like to point out the David Friedland and I finished # 1 and 2 in the Mr. Seaboard pageant out of 14 boys. Not too shabby for the only senior boys in Har Shalom at convention.

This year we are looking for a new team name so I came up with possible intramural team names that could be used for any sport, not just basketb… Continue

New member??

If you are nervous to join USY... don't be! While it may be overwhelming at first, everyone makes friends quite quickly. I recomend chapter events before regional events.

Regional events are great but chapter events are the best way to meet the people who will take interest in you right away. to start getting comfortable on USY, try coming to lounge nights every wednesday from 6:30 -8 they are fun and very chill.

Bring YOUR FRIENDS!! If you feel most comfortable with people you already know. I… Continue

About Us

USY ( United Synagogue Youth ) was founded in 1951, in Midwest by a group of Jewish teens who were interested in starting a Jewish conservative youth movement. USY is the official high-school aged youth organization of the Conservative Movement and is sponsored by the United Synagogue . This in turn means that USY is a Conservative Youth group and our Chapters exist in United Synagogue affiliated congregations. However USY is an open environment and welcomes teens of all affiliations. Although t… Continue
